General Questions

Please read these questions before booking a service. They explain what we can do, what we cannot do, and how our support works in Beijing hospitals.

1. Are you a hospital or medical institution?

No. Chinese Medical Navigator is not a hospital, clinic, medical institution, doctor, or treatment provider. We provide hospital navigation, patient escort, communication support, appointment coordination, document organization, and optional Chinese-English interpretation.

2. Can you recommend a doctor?

We can help patients understand possible hospital directions, departments, and general appointment routes based on the information they provide. However, we do not guarantee access to a specific doctor, specialist, hospital department, or appointment slot.

3. Can you help make hospital appointments?

We may assist with appointment coordination when possible. Appointment success depends on hospital availability, patient documents, timing, hospital rules, registration requirements, and the specific medical department.

4. Can you provide English support?

Yes. Depending on the case, we may arrange basic English-speaking assistance or professional Chinese-English interpretation. Basic English support may be enough for hospital routes, registration, payment, and simple communication. Professional interpretation is recommended for doctor-patient communication and important medical discussions.

5. Will the interpreter explain the doctor's diagnosis?

The interpreter helps translate communication between the patient and medical staff. The interpreter does not replace the doctor, does not provide medical judgment, and must not change, add to, or remove the meaning of what the doctor or patient says.

6. Can you accompany elderly patients to the hospital?

Yes. We may arrange patient escort support for elderly patients, including registration guidance, check-in support, directions inside the hospital, payment assistance, examination route guidance, pharmacy steps, and report collection. For patients with serious mobility issues, please tell us in advance.

7. Can you help foreign patients after arrival in Beijing?

Yes. We may provide practical support such as hospital route guidance, hospital visit preparation, patient escort, basic communication assistance, and coordination for hospital visits. Airport pickup, hotel suggestions, and local transportation coordination may be discussed separately.

8. Can you help book hotels near hospitals?

We can provide general accommodation suggestions near hospitals and may assist with practical coordination if needed. Hotel services are provided by the hotel, not by Chinese Medical Navigator. We do not control hotel availability, pricing, quality, or refund rules.

9. How much does the service cost?

The final price depends on the service type, duration, hospital location, language needs, whether professional interpretation is required, whether extra travel support is needed, and the complexity of the case. We provide a clear quote before service confirmation.

10. Can you guarantee treatment results?

No. We do not guarantee treatment results, diagnosis outcomes, medical opinions, hospital decisions, examination results, specialist availability, or recovery. All medical decisions and treatment outcomes depend on licensed medical professionals, the patient, the hospital, and the patient's medical condition.

11. What if the patient has an emergency?

Our service is not an emergency medical service. If the patient has a medical emergency, the patient or family should contact local emergency services immediately or go directly to an emergency department. We cannot replace emergency care, ambulance services, or urgent medical decision-making.

12. What information should I prepare before contacting you?

Please prepare the patient's basic information, preferred language, current location, expected hospital visit date, main symptoms or medical direction, previous medical records if available, current medications, allergy history, identity document type, emergency contact, and whether the patient needs mobility assistance.

13. Will you protect patient privacy?

Yes. Patient information is used only for service coordination, communication preparation, and hospital navigation support. We do not sell patient information. We do not publicly disclose patient information without consent. Sensitive medical documents should not be sent before a service agreement and consent process are confirmed.

14. Can overseas family members contact you remotely?

Yes. Many patients have family members living outside China. We can communicate with overseas relatives to clarify the hospital visit plan, service scope, appointment direction, language needs, and post-visit summary requirements.

15. Can you help with insurance claims?

We may help organize hospital documents and explain basic hospital paperwork. However, we do not represent insurance companies, do not provide legal or insurance advice, and do not guarantee reimbursement or claim results.

16. Can translation tools be used instead of a human interpreter?

Translation tools may be used for simple and non-critical communication if the patient agrees. For doctor consultations, examination decisions, medication instructions, surgery discussions, report communication, or important medical information, we recommend professional human interpretation.

17. Do you provide Traditional Chinese Medicine visit support?

Yes. We may assist with Traditional Chinese Medicine clinic visits, appointment coordination, on-site communication, pharmacy steps, and terminology support. We do not judge whether a TCM treatment is suitable for the patient. Treatment decisions must be made by the patient and licensed medical professionals.

18. Can you support multiple hospital visits?

Yes. Multi-day or multi-hospital support can be discussed separately. The service plan, staffing, language support, transportation needs, and pricing will depend on the schedule, hospital locations, and complexity of the patient's needs.
